File sharing is the ability for a single person to share a file via the internet through cloud mediums to another person. One person might be able to send a file such as a document to a friend via e-mail, or even a chat through Facebook. P2P File sharing is the ability for a single person to share a file via the internet through P2P mediums to a large group of people. One person should be able to share a file on their hard drive to others in the world. While it is being uploaded from the first persons computer, it can be downloaded to another persons computer. An example of P2P file sharing would be through the use of torrent services, such as Vuze, Utorrent, BitTorrent, and many others. BitTorrent helps users share files such as music albums or even entire movies. The Motion Picture Association of America has begun suing individuals for downloading movies through torrents as stated in an article titled, The BitTorrent Effect.
